Daily did not begin as a software category exercise. It began with a landscape company running essential work across maintenance, construction, and enhancements—and too much operational knowledge living on paper or in people's heads.
Geared for Growing has been operating for 44 years. That history is an advantage, but it also means the business contains real workflows, exceptions, customer expectations, and habits that generic software rarely sees.
Building inside the operation changes the standard
A feature is not complete because it looks right in a demo. It is complete when the office can plan the work, the crew can use it on a phone, the recorded result survives payroll and billing, and the customer sees the right outcome.
That creates a different product discipline:
- The crew experience cannot depend on every person maintaining an email account.
- Maintenance and construction cannot pretend to use the same scheduling model.
- Labor used for payroll and labor used for billing need related but distinct rules.
- Photos and notes need to remain attached to the property and visit.
- An extra recorded in the field needs a path to the invoice.
The product has to face Monday morning
Landscape operations change constantly. Weather moves work. A crew member calls out. A gate code changes. A client adds a request. A project needs another day.
Software built outside the operation tends to optimize the planned workflow. Software used inside it has to respect the changed workflow.
Real use creates honest priorities
The most important work is often not the flashiest. It is tenant isolation, reliable time capture, clear permissions, truthful onboarding, and a workflow that does not lose information between the field and office.
Those foundations make future automation and AI valuable because the underlying operational data can be trusted.
What Daily is trying to become
Daily is the shared operating layer between a landscape company's office and its crews. It keeps customers, properties, schedules, work, labor, proof, and billing connected.
We are building it with a small group of founding companies because the product should be shaped by more than one operation—but it should never lose accountability to the real work.
